ANNUAL RIVERCHASE GARAGE SALE -May 7th and May 8th, 2016
The first full weekend, Saturday & Sunday in May, Riverchase holds it's annual "Riverchase Neighborhood Garage Sale". We put ads in the local papers, on Craigslist and post signs outside the gates (which are left open).
A $5.00 permit is required to have a garage sale and can be obtained at the Building Inspection Department, 300 Country Club Road, Building 100, 2nd Floor. Click here for the Garage Sale Permit Application. If you are caught by the city without a permit is a $264.00 fine. Yes, $264 DOLLARS! So make sure you get one, just in case! Sign Restrictions - Garage sale signs may be placed on your private property or your neighbor's private property with their permission. Garage sale signs shall not exceed six (6) square feet in area.
Friday night is "Neighbor Preview". This usually starts at 6:00 PM. This is when your neighbors can come around the neighborhood and buy all your treasures before the gates open the next morning. It is optional. You do not have to participate if you do not wish. Some residents email their neighbors a list and pictures of their goods for sale. The gates are then open on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm for the official garage sale.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - Scheduled for October 2016 - We will need volunteers to plan, organize, and help set up this event. If there are no residents willing to volunteer for this event, it will be sadly, cancelled. Please contact a Board Member if you are interested.
National Night Out is celebrated in Texas every October. America's Night Out Against Crime!
"The '33rd Annual National Night Out' (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), in Texas will celebrate in October 2012. We cordially invite you to be a part of our National Night Out Team in 2013.
Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, cities, towns and neighborhoods 'celebrate' NNO with a variety of events and activities such as:
NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Plus, the benefits our community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night."
The Social Committee has always done a great job planning this party! We need volunteers, so if you're interested in helping with this event, please contact the Social Committee Chairperson or a Board Member. Click on the COMMITTEE tab in the right-hand column.
BREAKFAST AT THE GATES - TBD
This is a big hit every time we do it. The HOA Board Members, Committee Members and volunteers pass out juice and muffins at every exit gate from 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM on a designated morning. Signs are put at the gates a few days before to let the homeowners know in advance. Also, if you sign up for the Riverchase Email Notices you will receive a reminder via email as well.
